dr_jekyll
been doing a bit of thinking latley and i was wanting some thaughts and opinions from you guys as some of you allways give good impartial veiws and advice ( the rest of you are useless ) as we all know motorsport at the lowes level is still very expensive and because of this the average inthusiast is priced out of the th8ing he/she loves. and even on the rare ocasion they scrape the momeney for entry fees they have no hope of being competative because they cant afford the best parts/tyres/tuning ect. ladies and gentlemen i have a dream , the bring affordable motorsport to the masses, where the driver decides who wins , not the equiptment of his car. a quick rundown of my thaughts. a ceap series with a controll stock cheap to buy car, e.g an e36 325i engines , boxes, damping and breaks MUST be oem controll retread tryes seald stock ecu ect the format would have to be sprinting as its cheaper , easyer on the cars and not going wheel to wheel will meant its safer so less expensive safty measures will be needed. basicly allowing for a streiped out ready to run car for around £1000 and as evrys car will be the same it will be close and enjoyable now the questions i ask the wise and experienced of the mk4 world are, is there any reason why this would not be a good idea? would this kind of thing interest you as a motorsport enthusiast? and finally would anybody know how id get the ball rolling on seting something like this up as i have no idea:blink: but in all seriousness i love driving a car on a track hard chasing times and the fact thay ive even now been priced out of the "cheap" toyota series mnakes me wonder why just becase i havent got money to burn i cant endulge in what i love doing. gentlemen, your thaughts

dr_jekyll
any links? but that might be slightly missing the point. with the varient of cars and classis it will undoubtedly again come down to who can aford the best parts for their car
Gaz6002
Motorsport ALWAYS comes down to budget in the end mate. That's a fact. Remember, winning is roughly 75% car and 25% driver. Sure, 25% is important, but the car is an absolutely massive factor. If you're dealing with older cars then there will be a huge variation in the quality of base car available, and some people will have access to better parts and/or equipment depending on budget. AJI
If you don't have the money to fix your CAPS LOCK or SHIFT keys then I don't think you'll have the money to go racing. j/k Seriously, motorsport is mainly about size of cheque book, it always has and probably always will. On the cheaper side of things there is this (racing against the clock): http://www.hillclimbandsprint.co.uk/ For some proper racing you could try any of these: http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=129&i=15937
