Engine flooded? cranking but won't start...

My 1997 TT 6-speed was parked at a friends house outside for 6 weeks, it was only fired up once to move it.

Battery was dead, so I just hooked the jump cables up, and all the power was on... but when I try starting the car it will be cranking but there really isn't much of signs of it starting. When I first tried starting it jumped to 400 but every other time nothing happened.

So I am wondering if there is any fuses I can pull to get the car started. Maybe some fuel pump fuse or something? If so exactly which one is it?

I'll be heading back tomorrow to try start it again.

I was out the country for a while so needed it stored at a friends property.

If it's flooded try pressing the accelerator to the floor and hold it there whilst you turn the engine over, if there is a spark it should start up after turning it over for a bit.

If it still doesn't start pull the plugs, if they are wet with fuel check for a spark, if there's no spark you may have blown a fuse.

If the battery was flat the ECU will have been reset, the engine may not tick over and run a bit lumpy to start with, a run out for a couple of miles should fix this.

With the ignition on there are two ports in the engine bay diagnosistics box you can bridge with a paper clip or similar bit of wire.......you would/should then hear the fuel rushing up/through the rail. I would try that for a few seconds and then try a restart.

"If you want to check the pump is working bridge the FP and +B terminals in the diagnostic connector under the bonnet with a wire and then turn the ignition on - the pump should then run continuously."
