Polo
Hey guys, I recently done a 6 speed manual conversion on a customers aristo, we're expecting figures of about 600-700hp when complete. When doing the conversion i noticed how skinny the prop is at the slip joint section. This gar is to be used for fast road, so i went ahead with it. Now on my car, il be running in the same HP braket but it will be getting alot more abuse, drifting on 295/30 19" tyres, more than likely clutch kicking in 4th at 60MPH lol. Im very concerned at the diamiter of the stock prop at the slip joint! Do they ever fail?

Polo
jamiep's was running about 1200bhp though Yes but is that for road, drag, track or what? Appart from drag racing launches at 5Krpm or more, there is not alot wors for a propshaft other than drifting! I.e if you are drifting a corner at 100mph and the car starts to streighten or get grip, you kick the clutch with the throttle wide open to brake the traction again. This kills transmission, hence my upgrade to v160, i smashed 4 R154s last year in only 12 events
