Thoughts please on the aristo TT.

Is it the same turbo's ECU etc as the MKiv

do the UK spec brakes fit on them?

can they be BPU modded with mkiv stuff like intercoolers etc.

Is the auto box the same one?

Performance figures?

Syed shah knows a bit about these afaik you about to answer these questions for me?

Myself and Gaz from Envy both own a Black MkII Toyota Aristo V300 Vertex.

These have the same 2JZ-GTE engine as the Supra but it's the VVTi version.

Some earlier models do have the non-vvti variant.

Mine and I'm sure Gaz's have the Tiptronic gearbox same as the tiptronic facelift Supra.

You can modify to BPU etc but intercoolers and exhaust pipes are harder to come by but we can get most bits requried.

Getting delimiter and cruise to work right is a little harder. Still working on the cruise bit :(

email me at [email protected] as I rarely get time to read the forum now.

Regards

Pete

I really love Aristos - all that potential wrapped up in an innocent Lexus body shell. Mk1 engine is identical to J-spec Supra, afaik UK brakes will fit, auto box is almost the same but lacks the 'manu' function and I believe the ratios may be different, though I'm not 100% sure. 0-60mph is something like 6.5secs stock, which is not bad for a car that weighs 1700kg.

Welcome to the Aristo appreciation club!

They are great cars, I love the MK1 too the MKII had the styling edge for me and the VVTi power :)

Most bits are the same, intercooler, exhausts and de-cats are all slightly different but available no problem.

Regards,

Gaz.

Brain, if you check out http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/toyota/aristo/ you can see differences between model years as well as checking out the available options and standard equipment.

Steve, 4WD V8 is quirky, but heavy and underpowered. TTs aren't especially rare, a handful are always on sale on Autotrader, but if you're picky or specific about exactly what you want, be prepared to wait.

MkIIs start from around £6500-7000 for higher mileage cars, with I'd say £10k getting you a good one. Mk1s start as low as you like - tidy looking one on Autotrader with some 82k miles was up for £2750 a few weeks ago. Average price is around £4k, though lower mileage ones can get expensive.
