Noz
Hope you don't mind me asking, have a mate who has some play in his 6speed diff, is the auto and 6spd use the same ratio?
RobUK
I have a diff from a NA auto... If that's any good you can have it...
RobD
My mate has a TRD diff from a TT6, although we don't know if it's faulty or not as it operates very differently to his carbonetics TT auto diff! Not sure how much it's worth so make an offer
RobD
It has the big back plate cap thing also

James
3.266:1 for 6 speed. Most commonly A03B (smaller crown wheel size (8")). The UK spec was B03B as it is 8.7". 3.769:1 for TT auto (A02B). A02A for the prefacelift TT autos that didn't have an LSD (odd choice to opt for!).
Pig
Thanks Damon and jamesy. After doing a bit of research, I think it is safe to say that I will destroy a smaller case diff in no time at all so need a larger case

(my understanding is that this is not an na and not a j spec auto). That leaves me with needing a 6 speed or a uk auto. I would like a uk auto but they are pretty rare, a member was selling one but he has dropped out of sight, I wish he knew how important it was for me!!! If someone would be prepared to explain the difference between diff's so I understand I would be eternally grateful!!! The other worry is that if I put a 6 speed in, will I need to re map? Also, am I right in saying that I will destroy a j spec auto LSD? Whats the implications of fitting one? Sorry for being a moron! Jon

Jon If you try launching a small case diff at a drag strip with your power it will most likely break. It would work fine for normal road driving though... The Jspec auto LSD is the small diff type. A friend uses one on his 550hp 6 speed car and it works perfectly well. It's a very fun road car as well due to the way it accelerates with the shorter auto gearing. For a large case diff you need a TT6 diff from a pre-facelift jspec or a UK Spec car. A UK Auto diff will be perfect as well. All (Jspec and UK) auto diff's come with the shorter 3.76 gearing, and the 6 speed are 3.26(jspec) 3.13(uk spec) Just your gearing changes so no remap would be needed. The shorter ratio diff helps acceleration but reduces top speed. The longer gearing is also better for any 1/4 mile racing

For me, I rarely do "normal" road driving. I only use the car for "fun" things as it is too juicey and bumpy for normal road use. Thankfully, I bought a larger case 6 speed DIFF on friday so now just need to get it fitted. I am dreading the longer gear ratio's as I loved my UK Auto Diff. (Wish I hadnt broken it ) is this any good? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JDM-Toyota-Supra-MK4-8-7-Torsen-LSD-helical-JZA80-TT-rear-differential-diff-/180854276182?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a1bc14056 I needed lots more than just that as mine was blown to bits, inside and some of the casing. Serious money to rebuild what I had left. Thanks though!
