restrictor ring and gaskets?

Exhaust assembly paste does the job.

Actually prob the worst stuff you could use, it is extremely brittle, we only ever use either RTV or even better someting like sikoflex, very flexible and never leaks even if the exhaust flexes, we used this to seal headers on the old yanks that always blow between head and manifold.

ohh so you use paste instead of gaskets

and obviously i use my restrictor ring

can the paste be used ontop of the decat?

I've used it on every join of the exhaust and it's been fine. What Dude says is good advice though.

nice one

can i get this at normal places like local sellers that sell car parts ? sikoflex

Or a very good quality RTV sealant, it will not be in a tube but in a cartridge that you put in a sealant gun or you can get some that are self propellant from motor factors

Every time ive used exhsust paste ive let it dry and set properly.

Within 2 miles it just crumbles off due to the vibrations in the exhaust.

Would use gaskets as their only 3 quid, and i hate farty sounding cars :-(
