hogmaw
Watching Road Wars last night again and sometimes I just don't understand how sentencing works: Take last nights episode; a gang of young lads rip about 100 (yes 100!) badges of all the cars in a car park, VW, Audi, BM, Toyota etc etc causing thousands upon thousand of pounds of damage and no doubt pissing a LOT of people off. They get let off with a police caution. Then a bloke in the US drives his SUV through a door to get into a shopping centre. He drives through the shopping centre, not causing any damage, then drives through a door to get out again. He hits a policeman who arrests him. He gets 10 years!!! Two extremes, and it's usually the US that is way too hard, and the UK that is way too soft.
Josh
I've seen that one a few times. Those kids needed a good slap for that and they should have worked to pay the damage off.
TubbyTwo
Bit like the guy on the news last night, drunk doing 100mph on the wrong side of the road. Head on collision with a car, killed the soon to me married couple. Sentenced to 4 years, will be let out after 2. What a joke.

I haven't seen that but surely that should be construed as manslaughter and attract a heavier sentence?

AJI
Usually our western justice systems punish heavily those that have the most to lose and let off those that have nothing to lose. This is why the scrotes that scrounge our taxes are usually up in front of the judges time and time again for multitudes of so called 'petty' crimes and they are rarely given jail time. Instead they are given community hours or the like, because this is the only way they can re-pay their debt to society. The usual scrotes know how the system works so they don't bother with savings or buying anything of any value to anybody, instead they play the system knowing they are likely to be let off most times with a slap on the wrist and told "naughty boy, please don't do it again if you would be so kind".
