TheTurtleshead
Actually don't! Not if it's never been off, it could be a right bum ache…and I haven't got any oxy acetylene to get the bolts out if there are problems

That's the going rate. What if they do snap?
ashbuster
i would have thought it would have taken an hour tops if it didnt snap surely, not many bolts to undo this is the price if no hassel, so i could only imagine the price if they had trouble
ScottC
Sorry but £80 sounds like a fair price to me. If its just a few bolts why don't you do it yourself?
tony tt
My down pipe took 2hrs to get off in the end it had to heated with a torch the poor guy was having an awful job when i went bpu. I'd pay the £80 if i was you.
ashbuster
i have a gravel drive and its dodgey to work on there also i think im going to have problems with the 2 bolts on the side of the cat ive asked someone on here but im not sure if he would do it but what im saying is the £80 is if theres no trouble, if they run into problems they will put the price up obviously it can be done at home if theres no trouble but i think there will be so the price will shoot up Edited March 8, 2012 by ashbuster (see edit history)

ashbuster
any ideas how much extra they would charge if bolts snap also anyone know what size the nuts are so i can order some stainless steel ones? also the size of the bolts that go on the sensor on the side of the downpipe? tony tt
Exactly, the garage will know this to and will have all the equipment to hand to sort it out. Agreed at a proper garage any potential problem will be dealt with quickly. At least you know it will be done properly instead of on the cheap. tony tt
Whatever the garage charges in labour obviously if it takes 3hrs you pay 3hrs labour!! If it gets done in an hr id say your looking at £

tony tt
Its not a hard job for run of the mill garage mate the motions of doin a corsa downpipe to a supras is just the same its only a pipe at the end of the day.
