nismo_lp
What would it mean if after booting the supe for a bit (quite hard) then bring it back to idle the engine management light and the warning light coming on (idles at lo revs) .... then pulling away the car starting cutting out and spluttering and generally not wanting to move (almost stalling and when reved the was a squeaking noise from 1 of the pullys), come to a stop and let it idle again and the car jumped back to life and was suddenly fine with no probs !??? Loose spark plugs? Fuel pump problems???? oh its a completely standard 6TT at a 95 with low miles!
nismo_lp
Just took it out for a slow ride to she how she goes.... the cars running in perfect condition now... even tho i gave it a little bit of a hammering... not even a peep... could this have been a fuel problem??? The problem only occurred after i gave it a PROPER thrash so its making me think because ive have the rear de-cat and not upgraded the fuel pump (yet) that i kind of temporarily starved the engine of petrol (the pump can only handle a slight thrash). Or am i just talking complete shite???
hadyn
Could be either, First and easiest thing to do would be get a set of NGK Copper plugs (do a search) and fit them 2moro from halfords. If that sorts it then its probably dodgy plugs or possibly dodgy coil packs. If its still the same after plug change then its either coils or fuel pump. Fit a nice walbro after that to see if it sorts it and so on

Homer
Have you had a good service done since you bought the car? (new fuel filter, engine oil, oil filter, gear oil, axle oil, air filter element, decent new plugs, new fuel pump, etc). I wouldn't want to drive WOT on any fresh import until all these are sorted! eyefi
check the ecu for stored error codes. if the engine light came on then you should find something in there, save you arsing about guessing at stuff look on mkiv.com for instructions on how to do it.
