RB-GTE
My 1997 RZ-S came with the standard 2/1 pot brakes. It's time for me to upgrade. So I plan on running the Supra TT (2 pot) rear calipers, and for the fronts I am looking at the Lexus LS400 calipers (4 pot). My question is. Are the LS400 calipers more aggressive or less aggressive. Does anyone have an exact amount in mm possibley of how they sit vs the TT ? Reason I ask is my rims are noted by the manafactur that they don't clear TT supra front calipers, and would need a total of 7mm spacing (spacer) to make them clear. I'm just trying to see if my rims would clear LS400 calipers. It just depends if the LS400 calipers are as aggressive. cheers
Swampy442
The LS calipers, as I understand it, are pretty similar in size to the UK's
Lude
Think ive read on here that you may have to grind away a few mm of the caliper itself to fit some wheels
RB-GTE
Already got my answers. Apparantley the face of the Supra TT caliper sits 7/8mm further out. So there is about that much more clearance on the LS400 calipers. thanks though
PJ
This is a good thread on the LS400 swap if you've not seen it already http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=185889
garethr
Think I've read on here that you may have to grind away a few mm of the caliper itself to fit some wheelsNot to clear the wheels. There is a casting web that may need to be filed to clear the Supra hub. Edited March 6, 2012 by garethr (see edit history)
