AJI
Things come and go with car styling as with most fashion items you see on the high streets. One person tries something different and then people like to copy other people etc. etc. I was just wondering when will 'carbon effect' and 'carbon look' items on cars go out of favour with the 'sheep' types? (j/k) I was glad to see the multi-coloured prismatic paint scheme colours on cars die out a few years ago, now I'm just waiting for carbon this and that to die out as soon as possible. To be honest I'm tired of seeing it everywhere. Ok, its not often I do any sort of rant type threads...... maybe the bad day in the office is taking its toll disclaimer : this thread is not aimed at anyone in particular or their Supra (but I did see a terrible looking Honda Civic on the way back from work with more carbon than car on it, it looked..... very wrong)

jazz1
Only looks good on black cars, I mean the bonnet.
Dnk
I doubt it will go out of fashion any time soon and to be honest if you like it do it

ripped_fear
I have to say I like carbon BUT in small quantity's. I'm not a fan of big carbon panels for example bonnets but I think small details such as small lips, exhaust surrounds etc can look good if done right. All IMO of course. Scott
I've always hated carbon but I think it's more to do with the fact that it became more of a status symbol than an actual performance mod/gain for the most part. People with carbon on their cars for the asthetic reasons are the main contributors to it going out of fashion ages ago, for me. It's designed for function rather than form but lots of people want to say that they have a carbon this, or a carbon that, when in actual fact it's fibreglass with a CF cover and heavy resin thrown on top of it... completely disregarding the whole point of CF. SupraD06
I quite like carbon, but for me it has to be 'real' carbon, im not a fan of carbon wrap ( Sticker backed stuff )
j_jza80
I thought it was out of fashion? The odd little bit is okay, some spoilers etc. but carbon bonnets etc are embarrassing if left without paint. A car that sums it up well is an E30 M3 I've seen on the 'net recently, all white with a subtle carbon splitter and gurney flap. I'll see if I can find the pics...
