Corrosion on Facelift Chrome rings?

I wanted to polish my pair of facelift headlights and noticed some marking or stain on the bigger rings.. It almost look like it's could be glue ? Please see pic.. Is this corrosion and what can I do to get rid of it becuase I want to put them up for sale.

Just put them up for sale as is mate. Can't really see what you are talking about from those pics as there doesn't appear to be that much corrosion!?

 

There is no simple method of fixing them...take the light apart and spray the rings or replace them with polished aluminium rings are the only options tbh!?

Anyone that could make rings like that would have to be some kind of genius

 

I'm no expert fabricator but i think it could probably be done with a press and thin sheet alloy. Polished up afterwards. The fabrication of the jigs would be the costly bits i assume.

 

Unless there's many chrome rings on ebay for classic cars/bikes. if a similar sized ones could be found.

 

The only other option is the very expensive chrome effect paint or getting the whole insert vaccum metalised.
