Neighbour's parking ....

May sound a bit petty but the estate where I live has narrow roads and a single footpath. We recently have had new neighbours move in and they have started parking their 3 series Beemer opposite our drive which makes it very hard for me to get the supe out and almost impossible for the wife's freelander. Is this legal and is the fact the car is parked on a path and blocking pedestrian access legal? I will be having a polite word with them tomorrow but just want to be sure of some facts incase they get snotty.

Thanks in advance

Most people will just understand and not continue to do it. See what they say and take it from there. It is against the law to block someone's drive way. Police can sort that for you.

Do they realistically have an option to park it elsewhere............and by realistic I mean somewhere else where it won't just be in front of some other neighbour?

Hopefully they have and are reasonable and you are polite! and then things should get sorted out for both parties.

Yeah there is room for them to park on the end of their drive. That's the plan, be polite and hopefully nothing bad will come of it. :)

Similar problem here, not impossible to get out but I've got an L200 and over the road some new people always park one car half on the pavement and the other on the drive. It's a narrow road and can be a pita to swing out and miss their car. Not the sort you can talk to either, my attitude is that they see me struggle and do nothing about it so if one day I hit their car then it's tough, bottom line is that they're illegally parked (half on the pavement).
