tbourner
That's cos a fist is a large surface area, if you'd put that force into something sharp it would break easily.
Graham1984
I tried to break a window once. Full force hard as I could punch, 18 stone bodybuilder at the time, and a broke a knuckle! And the window survived! Got to be some sort of trickery. Or maybe you are just a big girls blouse

And the window survived! Got to be some sort of trickery. I did the same years back. It was in my mates bus graveyard that we used to play in. My knuckles are all messed up from those days, scars all over them. Windows are up to a fair bit of punishment before they will give with sheer brute force. I would be surprised if anyone was even able to kick through a windscreen, I was thinking about this the other day (randomly) and I have the opinion that the only way to get through one would be to do a flying kick at one while the car was moving towards you at a decent rate. Otherwise I think you would just bounce off and break something.

Lol I tried to remove a windscreen from a K reg Escort many years ago. Apparently 2 15 year olds stamping and jumping on it won't quite cut it! Windows take some proper abuse but windscreens are a whole different kettle of fish!

dude
Could be something along the lines of an automatic centre punch. Or ceramic, depending how hard he flicked it. The ceramic from a spark plug will shatter a window nicely. I tried to break a window once. Full force hard as I could punch, 18 stone bodybuilder at the time, and a broke a knuckle! And the window survived! Got to be some sort of trickery. More likely a bit of a pussy punch LOL !!!! Ive punched thru loads of windows, never broke a knuckle etc, you nhave to believe you can do it. Who are you!? Mr Miagi??? Lol It depends if the window's curved. And it was a merc A class, with a nice curvey window. Lol I've gone through a rear window of a fiesta, and a rear side glass on a mk2 golf. EDIT: I was wearing my doorman gloves (that certainly did not have mercury in the knuckle lining, officer) on the golf!

erol_h
A few years back on a hot summers day the sun was beeming down making it hard to see as you had to squint your eyes. A police car was approaching from behind with sirens on i pulled to the side so did the vehicle infront but the cyclist didnt realise the car infront of him slow down and stop for the police to pass. The cyclist without breaking hit the car infront of him went face first into the rear window causing it to smash with only his face hitting the glass and ended up with the bike still between his legs completly in the boot of the car and actually disappeared out of sight. The police car to stop to help the guy out i double took and thinking to myself wtf did that actually happen the guy was ok apart from being a little dazed. He was on the expressway on the way to our work, he didn't noticed a car had broken down (no hard shoulder) and was peddling hard with his head down. Went right into the back of the car, some facial injuries and a sore neck was about all he had. His helmet took the brunt of it, OOEERR
