I am guessing but, he starts in the middle of the window and increases the frequency of the tapping as he moves to the corner. Maybe this is setting up a resonance in the glass panel and when it hits the right frequency the glass breaks? All to do with harmonics.

Not sure if you have ever seen the videos of suspension bridges swinging in the wind and then falling apart? similar thing i guess?

yeah i did think that at first but to get that frequency correct with your finger im not so sure. could be fake but the timing on the window breaking with the finger hit and the guy was about to carry on i do believe it was genuine shock

isnt it that stuff they make glass bottles from for in films?

that break easier?

hard to tell in the video but doesnt look like a normal window doesnt look thick

Sugar glass? Possibly, but I think that the vehicle glass was stronger than that, as sugar glass is very brittle.

The thing about resonant frequencies is that it is counter productive to change the Hertz (pace). Its more about maintaining the same, specific frequency as the natural bounce of the glass and only increasing the amount of pressure of each beat if needed without altering pace.

I dont think its resonance as it is likely to be very hard to maintain the hertz precisely and you can see the guy tapping at different speeds as well as pressures and location.

Fascinating video if it is true, but im guessing its manipulated in some way, IE: weak glass or something.

Maybe he stole chuck norris' finger?

Didn't you see my post? The guys got a punch on his glove, he was leaning on the car and flicked the top left of the window

Even without your post it's ridiculous Trev. Just goes to show how gullible people can be :D

Anyone with any sense can see this is a "prank" to suck the newbies in with.

Could be something along the lines of an automatic centre punch. Or ceramic, depending how hard he flicked it. The ceramic from a spark plug will shatter a window nicely.

I tried to break a window once. Full force hard as I could punch, 18 stone bodybuilder at the time, and a broke a knuckle! And the window survived! Got to be some sort of trickery.
