What you guys think of this? http://www.suprastore.com/pr1jtukit50p.html price? parts? quality? the brands ive all heard of, its just the price. is it better building it up myself or buy a kit? I want a reliable, Fast spooling. Not looking for more than 500bhp, as its a daily driver. Have a budget but ill see what you guys say about this first . cheers. JamieP
Looks fine to me, with a 54mm turbo it should spool fast, not sure that will make 500bhp though.
welshbuddy
Tidy, what do you think of the price? ive had a shop around for bits, thats the cheapest all in all iv'e seen. 1550gbp to my door. Which i thought was cheap?
JamieP
Yeah its cheap, looks a good kit to me.
CJ
I would certainly look to check out Suprastores current standing for customer service and delivery times etc. In the past they didn't have the best reputation.

Is that not a bit of a forum tale that goes about? do you know anyone thats had a problem? Ive had loads of bits off them over the years and never had a issue myself. I have never had any dealings with them personally and was always put off my the "tales".
welshbuddy
ive only heard good things about them, All the supraforum use them in the US. but 1500 is a steal .
CJ
All the supraforum use them in the US..... I think that could be a bit of a sweeping statement as I am sure there are lots of other companies that people use too.

pedrosixfour
For the extra £150 I'd opt for the next package up. A claimed 610hp at 22 PSI, so it should make your desired power level easy without stressing any components. http://www.suprastore.com/qust11jsituk.html

ubersonic
IMO thats expensive, I don't know much about Suprastore but in the MKiii Supra world (1JZ was available from factory) Driftmotion are very highly rated. http://store.driftmotion.com/static/i-1jz57trimturbokit.php http://store.driftmotion.com/static/i-1jz60-1turbokit.php http://store.driftmotion.com/static/i-1jz67mmturbokit.php If you don't need all the bits in the kit or just want part of them or whatever just email the guy who owns the site hes very good to deal with. neil tt
Now that is very cheap, might have to look into a new turbo, thanks for the link
welshbuddy
thing with the suprastore, the compoments of it are of a higher standard, For the extra 900 bucks, which isn't alot of money really when it comes to single kit's, reliability. Driftmotion i have read up use a chinese turbo and put garret internals in. then the wastegate iv read wont hold at 20psi, so that would need replacing. manifold is braced but then iv read it still can sag. But i still hear good thingd about driftmotion
neil tt
By time you add up the cost on supra store its just over £2000, but can appreciate what your saying about the parts used. It seems you are better paying more in the beginning, because you will only end up paying twice
welshbuddy
yerp, As your a soarer driver, i got my 1jz out of a soarer , are you running a r154 box? as im running a w58 box, i would have to have my boost on low untill i got a new gearbox . So if i got the power there ready, drive around on low boost new box up the power .
neil tt
Would love a manual, but only an auto
welshbuddy
For the extra £150 I'd opt for the next package up. A claimed 610hp at 22 PSI, so it should make your desired power level easy without stressing any components. http://www.suprastore.com/qust11jsituk.html But as I'm only running the w58 box at the moment, that Turbo would be too big, I wouldn't be able to use the potential, if I get the first package, that kit will still support 800bhp, just need to change Turbo . pedrosixfour
W58 and a singled 1JZ? I'd wind that tongue back in if I was you!
welshbuddy
That's why the 500kit would be better, I could run it at low boost at about 380bhp, untill I Get a r154 box as my twin Turbo seals are shot, smokes. Would have more response from the single then So replace the broken turboa before gearbox
Andy-No-Knee
Those Drift Motion kits look good but they say they will not fit a right hand drive car without modification to the wastegate location. Still, sounds like good value.
