Hey all. Finally got round to renewing my membership although most of you will not even realised i'd gone anywhere lol.

As a couple of you may know, I work for Toyota in Derby making the Auris and the Avensis. As i'm so good at my job (ahem, cough cough) my bosses, in a moment of madness, decided to send me on a jolly to the land of the rising sun to do some line trials for the next generation Auris, due November 2012 (ish)

So after a 24 hour journey consisting of a 3 hour drive to Heathrow, a 12 hour flight to Tokyo, lots of waiting, another flight to Nagoya and a final taxi ride to Aichi (just outside Toyota City) i dumped my cases in my room and went out for a few beers.

Returning rather annebriated i collapsed onto my bed and slept solidly for 5 hours straight. Damn you jetlag. Walked outside my room to find some breakfast and what is the FIRST thing i see????????????????

Oh yes, a beautiful example of a Supra :D

Naturally i grabbed my camera and staggered downstairs to take a few more snaps.....

I've not located the owner of the Supra (yet) but naturally when i do i will ask the usual questions ( twin turbo or single etc) and report back.

Welcome back! Sounds like you have a rather decent job :)

Not as glamorous as it sounds to be honest. Standing round in one of 5 factories (have to travel between them all) watching people you can't understand trying to explain the intricacies of die making and why they can't modify things how we want them lol. Then its on to trying to get the parts to run and getting the quality absolutely spot-on before the dies are shipped to the UK for mass production trials etc. Very interesting but you can be stood round for a long time while modifications are made etc. If they would allow me to take photos (secrecy rules prevent me from doing so) I'd put them up on here so you have a better idea of what i actually do.
