Dim Sum
As title suggested. Today I had some time and thought I do something i wanted to do last year but didnt have the time. I cut out a hole in the spark plug cover to expose the cams but is it safe? Or maybe I should get some think see through plastic to cover it to protect the cams? Guigsy
For the price of a bit of clear plastic you might aswell cover it. Standard pulleys look a bit crap who
Attero
I've known a few people have them open. Can't see it being a problem personally. It's still external (I think). But I'd rather play it on the safe side and cover them up.
Westy
I would put in some clear plastic mate and buy some colourful aftermarket cam pulleys.
Dim Sum
I'm planning to buy the HKS cam pulleys eventually. But I will head out tomorrow to get some clear plastics like you guys are saying just to be safe. Thanks
Attero
I think at the end of the day, if anything was to snap or fall off in the engine bay and get jammed in there, you could find yourself in a lot of trouble. So yeah, better to be on the safe side.

Scott
If you do decide to expose the cams in the future just make sure you have a rag handy
