Robbie
hello, Ive got a uk soop, auto with hks intercooler, fuel pump, fcd, evc4, hks superdragger2, hks induction kit and stage 2 hybrids from turbo technics. The second cat has been removed with the superdragger pipes but I would like to know if its a good idea to remove the front pipe?. Ive heard that by removing the front cat it can produce boost spikes and hard to control boost creep. Is it worth while buying an upgraded frnt catback pipe or somthing>>>or are the gains not worth bothering about.
Gaz Walker
No mate, its a UK soop, they don't suffer from boost creep like the Jspecs. Dump those cats! Gaz.

Neil Sandham
Welcome UK specs have a larger capacity wastegate which prevents the boost creep associated with J-specs when both cats are removed. As for who knows about them....then Chris Wilson (who will be along anyminute) knows all about them and indeed can supply you with some rather good ones. cheers Neil. Terminator
AFAIK the power gain from the first cat removsal on the UK car are not as significant as a Jap spec due to the UK EGR system. To get the real benefit you need a boost controller to develop the extra boost, that just happens on the Jap spec. However you will get some power gain and reduce your EGTs as well, which is always a good thing. Dont forget the change in exhaust note/volume too. Chris W will sort you out with the correct pipe for your UK car.
Chris Wilson
You won't have boost spike problems on a UK model. The removal of both cats will help the engine run cooler internally and remove heat from the engine ba. It will also spool somewhat faster and have better mid and top end power. Slightly more noise, nothing at all excessive though. Straightforward bolt in fitment. I have stock.... Contact details in my sig below. Cheers.
