Lazarus
Canadian BAE Hawk 100, straight down the left intake just after rotation, he did quite well, got it to 3000 feet and turned back to put it on the runway, but burned up too much airspeed getting it up there and stalled, both ejected and lived. Its funny, I was talking with DB at JAE about birdstrikes and then this comes up, unfortunately it happens all too often with military aircraft, seen some right messy ones. Green Peace
Incredible bit of footage...watched Airport the other week where they actually employ a bloke to drive round airside in a Land Rover with recordings of bird mating noises coming out of speakers on the roof to lure the birds away from the runways..well funny. Bit scary what impact a bird can have on a plane...I guess with the bigger jets its not such a big issue!
