jimwire
I have a set of rear uk / big 2pot calipers for sale. They come with part worn pads with some life left, Chris Wilson stainless steel pins and a set of part worn disks I also purchased off Chris Wilson. The calipers have a few marks but the supra logos are still there. Thecalipers cost me £200, the pins cost me £22 and the disks cost me £50ish. I'd like £250 collected for the lot or £250 plus postage (very heavy with the disks).
SamuraiFlash
What kind of condition are the rubber seals in?
jimwire
I have not taken them to bits or fitted them to my car so I'm unsure. I bought them a while back off here. All I have done is replace the pins as the ones they came with were heavily corroded. How can I check the seals?
SamuraiFlash
I am talking about the rubber seals around the piston. you will have to take the pads out for the seals to be visible.
jimwire
The dust seals are dirty but look intact. How would I check the piston seals?
Dnk
With the pads pushed right back even if you take the pads out it will be difficult to tell if the seals have any small holes or splits in. If there the original seals and the calipers are over 10 years old i would replace them even if they aren't holed or split. Did they come off a UK car or do you know their age ? The piston inner seals can't be checked without removing the pistons, there not usually a problem though, its holes or splits in the outer dirt seals that cause the problems which lead to corrosion on the piston o/ds which leads to them seizing
jimwire
I'll find the thread from when I bought them. I think they were off a facelift j spec.

jimwire
I can't find any holes or splits in the dust seals. The outer part of the pistons has some corrosion. I can take the pads out and take more pictures if anyone would like.
