Paul R
Hi, I'm looking for a rangie - quite like the look of the sport - but I'm getting stick off of my mates - "You'l get stuck in a puddle", "only drug dealers drive them" etc etc.... It kinda put me off getting a sport! they are supposed to be fairly good off road as far as I know - which I would use it for occasionaly. What do you think? Paul. Jamesy
They're only jealous mate - RR Sport is the nuts. Have driven a few of them now and its like a living room on wheels with ooooodles of power!!
Robzki
Yep, same here. Driven the Sport offroad at a 'centre' and its the mutts. Took it places I would never imagine a 4x4 going.
tkddav3
sport for the win! only down side is they dont have the split tailgate but hardly a reason not to buy one, the td6 is good but how can you resist a jag v8
dude
Sport is far too small and cramped, like a mondeo inside, go for the mans option, full size L322, have a look on Ebay, plenty on LPG, equivalent to running a decent hatchback fuel wise and takes 5 big blokes with comfort. Paul R
I've been looking at the 4.2 supercharged. I had a range rover about 5 years ago and did quite a bit of off roading. But I think that even the new shape rangie is looking a bit outdated now? The sport looks, well a bit more sporty :-) Paul.

Sport looks Gay, would you want to drive the same car as Amy Childs and Katie Price, go buy a 4.4 2002/3 and get the 2012 Autobiography conversion done, hey presto looks £84K worth and does the equivalent of 30mpg money wise on a run. j_jza80
The Regular Range Rover I'm generally a big proponent of 'buying British' but in the case of a 4x4 I think I'd opt for a Nissan Patrol or Lancruiser Amazon, they're reliable and relatively inexpensive to run, and have a better image than the RR Sport. Pulley
Agree with dude, proper rangie, I've had a couple, they're quite easy to update the look with lights n bumper as mentioned Sport is nice but not a real rangerover
Paul R
I'm still leaning towards the sport. I'm not really bothered which famous people own one....allthough I am shocked to learn that Amy child's managed to pass a driving test!! marc_p
Definetly a normal one, sport is just a chav-mobile in my opinion.

Paul R
I don't get where this stereotype for the sport has come from? Its basically a discovery underneath - they are superb off road. Its only a car afterall? Paul.

dude
I love my 'proper' range rover, i would not entertain a sport.
Abz
sport for the win! only down side is they dont have the split tailgate but hardly a reason not to buy one, the td6 is good but how can you resist a jag v8 Yes they do. The ground clearance isn't great on a sport to be honest, it isn't a 'proper' off roader like the RR Vogue or Disco, the sound system is banging though! I have driven quite a few RR Sports, the supercharged is great fun, sounds amazing unbaffled, though only properly shifts on pull off... then doesn't 'feel' that quick. London is full of them, mostly Mum's doing the school run in them... we have some big potholes here! The sport does look better than the vogue though! dude
Sport is no good at all, you can only get one medium sized body in the boot, vogue easily fits 2 ........................................allegedly !!! LOL

dude
Do you take it off road? I went out doing meals on wheels in the snow last year for 3 days, because we had the range rover we got sent out to the middle of nowhere in the snow, we had to go thru country roads that had been shut to deliver the old folkds meals and even on road tyres the thing was unbelievable, it refused to get stuck and went everywhere, inc down an icy hill that had a car pointing up but going backwards down it, I used the HDC and it is uncanny what it lets you do, we got stuck in a muddy field the other day but I have learnt it matters not how good your vehicle is but how good the tyres are as the farmer who laughed as we strugled to drive out of the ruts we had made (trying to tow a stuck horsebox) went and got his Navara on knobbly tyres and fared no better but could not drive out of his ruts. In the snow and towing it is phenominal dude, with the knobbly tyres its great off road just don't go wading as the electrics are frightening. Paul R
Well, I have it on good authority that the sport is phenominal off road too, due to its all terrain system or whatever its called. Its supposed to be good even on road tyres? I used to do a lot of serious off roading in my old rangie - but I totally destroyed it! Paul.
