Chucky_waR
Do you think its fair for Britain to extradite Christopher Tappin to the US to face being jailed for life at the age of 65 but blocked the extradition of preacher? Abu Qatad because it's against his human rights?^ Do you feel that the law is stacked against UK citizens? I believe so sadly.. Let me explain, There was a story a couple of years ago in the papers of a family from Afghanistan with a couple of kids living in a house worth over 2.7 million pounds and receiving over £200 000 of benefits annually but in the same area there was a former British soldier sleeping rough in his car and not getting any help from the government.. That doesn't add up.^ I'm from South Africa and can't believe the way the Government treat their citizens that work their arses off and pay their taxes. The ones that want to make a difference gets screwed.. Am I missing something or do I have it all wrong?
ashbuster
i agree and it wont change i read about that soldier and the Afghanistan couple and i think its disgusting. its as if no one cares anymore, how do they expect everyone to get on when things like this happen
j_jza80
We still have Abu Qatad because of the European 'justice' system. We should let the EU have him and send him to Brussels, he'd die of boredom
ashbuster
this is one i think is bad too http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2033747/While-1m-homes-asylum-seekers-soldier-lost-limbs-tiny-sixth-floor-flat.html He lost three limbs in a bomb blast while serving in Afghanistan. Now Private Alex Stringer is fighting another battle back home – against a housing allocation that has left him trapped in a tiny sixth floor flat. As some families living solely on benefits are housed in multi-million-pound properties, the 20-year-old struggles in a flat so small he says he is unable to use his wheelchair indoors. At least with this new benefits cap the Tories are trying to do something about it, but it's still nowhere near enough. I suspect the reason immigrants get such extravagant houses is to stop Ghettos cropping up in the major cities.
Abz
Just incase anyone was wondering who Christopher Tappin: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/9104000/Christopher-Tappin-to-be-held-in-prison-for-a-week-after-extradition-to-US.html Well, when the US shout, we heel... it is funny he is being done for selling arms to Iran, though the CIA are okay to sell arms to Afganistan\Iraq. Didn't read anyone getting prosecuted for selling arms from the US to Bin Laden and Saddam Hussain (I thought they were supposed to be the bad guys). CJ
Do you honestly believe that there is a family with 2 children receiving £200,000 a year in benefits? Please take it from someone who is involved in the benefits system, that is absolute tosh! The good old Daily mail has a lot to answer for and has rapidly taken over from the Sunday Sport as a "newspaper" that will print any sensationalism to sell papers. Oh please!!! How much rent do you think a nice house costs? Lets say its £4,000 a month + council tax of £2000 (although that sounds generous) that would equate to £72,000. So you are trying to tell me that they would then get £130,000 worth of benefits? Thats just silly.
ashbuster
true, worked it out after i posted lol theres no way they would be having thousands per month
j_jza80
My biggest bear bug when I see someone living for free in a lavish house, whilst the person next is working hard to pay a £2k a month mortgage. There's a fairly new estate nearby that's full of 3 storey, 4 bedroom town houses, that I guess are worth £300k-£350k. Out of approximately 12 houses on one street, I know for a fact that at least 3 are being lived in by council tenants. I know 2 of the families personally through an old job, they have 1 kid per family! Totally unfair IMO. One of the guys doesn't work anymore as its not worth his time, the proof being that he couldn't afford driving lessons when he was working. Since packing in work, he's passed his driving test and can afford to run a car.

Chucky_waR
Her rent was almost £12k per month because they could not find a suitable house for a small army of children.. it is disgusting that a man will put his life on the line for this goverment and have almost all of his limbs blown off but he has to struggle to survive. It's a sad world... Sorry for the rant but I had to get it off my chest. Wondered if I was the only one feeling this way..
