Undoing BPU?

Hey, ive been looking at UKDM TT's with the intent of buying one around June as a birthday treat and all the ones I seem to find have already been BPU'd, thing is though I don't really want that as stock will be enough for me. From what I have read the UKDM needs a MBC/EBC to hit BPU boost levels as it doesn't overspool like ceramics do so I was thinking what would it be like if I just bought a BPU'd one and turned off/unplugged/removed the EBC? that way it would efectivly just a normal UKDM but with a free flowing exhaust from the Y pipe right? What kind of bhp would you guys expect from that?

Thanks.

326bhp standard, BPU up to 400bhp.

You'll more than likely want more power over stock as mine's 350bhp and doesn't feel all that quick anymore.

Just leave the boost controller off so it's running stock boost then turn it on when you want the power :)

BPU brings the car to life mate...why would you undo it!?

My current car is a Mkiii TT limited spec with n induction kit so about 310-315bhp and thats honestly enough for me, also their a bit heavier than a UK MKiv so I think a stock UKDM would do me fine but I guess ill see what happens when I get one :)

Yes if it's a UK Spec Supra it will have some sort of boost controller fitted, turning the boost controller off will lower the boost to the stock level of 0.8bar.

Was my thought too, except possibly for insurance reasons.

Agreed, but beware if this is the reason for the odd request. If you declare it as stock but keep the boost controller, FCD, de-cat pipes, aftermarket exhaust in place, and just leave the boost controller switched off, you would come unstuck in the event of an accident/claim. If you want stock TT, you will need to remove the aftermarket parts completely.

I'm speaking as an insurance claims adjuster (not motor by the way, but principal is the same whatever the risk involved) so bare this in mind fella. :)
