Guest sideways
Hi all, I have had my NA for 3 years now and think it is finally time to change it up for a TT. My mechanic quoted me 5K for taking my engine out and switching it for a TT lump, this includes all the additional bits like intercooler etc. The only problem is I don't have a spare 5K knocking about at the moment. So could someone please tell me what are the additional individual bits besides the engine itself that i'd need, this way I can just buy them individually as and when i can and get them fitted all at the same time. Would you also recommend changing the gear box, I was told that the standard NA one I have should be good for up to 500 bhp but is this correct? My engine is in pretty mint condition has about 47'000 miles on it at the moment so does anyone have an idea if any companies do part exchanges on engines, would save a shed load more money that way and would speed along the process! Cheers Rob
TheTurtleshead
IIRC Keron does it for 2.5K, converted. Drop him a PM!
SamuraiFlash
£5k?!? That is ridiculouse mate. Keron does a full swap including the engine and box etc for £2.5k. And yes you will need the TT autobox as the na box wont be able to handle the torque of the TT engine for long.
