Stu-R
Just wondering as I need some new r888's or other equivilent sticky tire. Car is currently running 265/35/18's on the rear and I hate how they perform and look.

imi
I run 245s front and 285s rear.
leet45single
I run 245s front and 285s rear. Second that. My advice though if your looking for road legal tyre grip (I use that term lightly as road legal speeds you wont lose grip lol but...) go for 285's or 275's with more than a 35 side wall like a 40 or 45. leet45single
R888's you'll struggle to find a better road legal tyre for grip in the dry. unless you want to run a smaller wheel diameter and run et streets but there's a debate wether or not they're road legal. Nic
I use to run 245/40R18 & 285/35R18 Below are the stock tyre sizes, you can use THIS LINK to make sure the new tyres have a similar rolling radius. Front: 235/45R17 Rear: 255/40R17
Littler
There's a lot of information from when I asked, very useful! : http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?249584-Which-18-quot-tyres-are-best-for-the-Supra
Scott
I would personally go with 245 front and 285 rear as suggested. I've got some 295s to squeeze onto a 10" rim sometime in the near future, that should be interesting.
Westy
What about a rear 9.5" rim with 275/40 18 Using Nics link it states a 6.45% difference in diameter (no more than 2.5% recommended) over the stock sizes. Are there any issues to be aware of!? For information I currently run 265/35 18.

Being 6% over stock would mean that your speedo would probably read accurate or maybe even under-read. Need to be careful with speed cameras etc. 275s will be a little easier on 9.5s than 295s will on 10s so I'm guessing you will be fine. They are a bit oversized though.
