Steve W
Can CONFIRM ! ! Just checked over ones on our NEW SOOP (hhmmm.... HINT HINT ! ! ) and REAR has a rusty patch ( = STEEL) Fronts (for SOME reason ?) had patches of paint MISSING ? and were SHINY with NO RUST ( = ALUMINIUM) BTW, having read a thread on here few days ago about the ARMS being on the wrong way (ie Drivers Passengers) These arms WERE on wrong way - there is a Capital "D" and "P". The main diff is the first section by the mounting nut. It is SUPPOSED to be longer on the drivers side so you can lift the arm up properly to change the blade (not try to hold it precariously cos it fouls the bonnet - as it did when on WRONG way round). Yours-TRIVIALLY-FatS.
Paul
Steve, are the fronts full aluminium then? If so I think I might strip the paint and give them the brushed look as highly polished ain't for me. Paul
Steve W
Not 100%, but, the paint was off the LONGER/THINNER part (blade-end?) THAT was shiny (semi-polished?) so i presume Ally. The thicker/mount end was still painted, but is like a cast piece ? So i think must be cast Ally ?? the REAR is different and the mount end is like a "normal" car arm (Soop-Snootieness ???) it has a look of pressed steel (don't ask me what a LOOK is like ) It was the MOUNT end of the rear that's gone all nasty-rusty. Paul
Cheers Steve, I'll take a look then
colsoop
Just to check i took a magnet and stuck it on the wiper arms, it stuck to the top section where the wiper arm sits and didn't stick to the bottom section, where it bolts to the car. Jspec Germany
How do you remove these wiper arms? Is there a specific way? Hood up I presume? I'll be painting mine black I think. But I do like the polished look, but only if it's aluminum. Steel is just too much work.
colsoop
See attached picture: There is a plastic cover hiding a 10 mm bolt simply pull off the cover and undo the bolt, i think the bonnet needs to be lifted for the drivers side but can't remember off hand
