Just had my mouth set on fire by a Sharwoods curry in a jar.

I'm almost too ashamed to admit this but I'm going for it anyway. Yesterday the Wife called me from Asda telling me about some limited edition curry from Sharwoods. I usually get the Madrass but as this one seemed rather special she thought she would ask. She read it out to me, explaining that it was their hottest ever curry etc, etc, etc and what with their Madrass being reasonably mild for a madrass I thought there would be no danger. How wrong was I.

I only managed half of the curry I prepared and it took a full litre of diluted juice to put the flames out. My tongue still feels a little scorched lol.

Anyway, if you like REALLY hot curries then I would recommend it. I don't mind a hot curry, as long as it has the flavour to back it up, this didn't have anywhere near as much taste as it did fire so it's not for me.

For once, it does EXACTLY what it says on the jar. It has a 4 chilli rating (which is the max) but it also has 3 + signs after it lol.

Ya big girl :p

Tbh, I ate half a green chilli as a "challenge" at a curry a few weeks ago and I couldn't eat for about 15 mins :D

I did the same thing to show off in front off in front of an ex cage wrestler a few months back. Terrible, terrible descision.

Although I quite fancy trying some of this Sharwoods stuff you've been going on about.

Thing is, me and my mate did it, then he offered my brother £20 to do it! I'd just done it for free but my bro got £20 to do it, just 'cause he's known for not handling spice!!

Brave man Scott, I normally stick with the Madras. If they're too hot surely you don't actually taste anything! Unless it's that burning sensation that people like..

:donkey: gotta love the donkey

For me Madras is the perfect balance between hot and flavour. I think the madras is easily the best tasting curry and the fact that it has a fair bit of bite makes it perfect.

This sharwoods one puts a vindaloo to shame (not a fan as they aren't very tasty) but I was a bit disappointed by the flavour. Obviously the first few forkfulls you get to experience the flavour properly before the heat kicks in, but I was underwhelmed. The heat then started coming on stronger and stronger until I literally had to put my plate down and pick up the juice lol.

Any curry fans should definitely give this a go, just as an experience. Got to tip my hat to Sharwoods though, they haven't beat about the bush.

Oh, forgot to mention. 10p from every jar is going to charity too so that's another reason to give it a go :)

Oh, and the best way to stop the burning sensation is to put a gob of yogurt in your mouth, or salt.

Water is the worst you can have ;)

Have a look at the writeup on the chilli used in this curry Abz, honestly mate... try it ;)

For those that like hot food, buy a bottle of "be damned" from http://www.thechillipeppercompany.co.uk, its got a picture of the devil on the front of the bottle and is rated at heat level "insane", now that stuff burns.

My mate has that stuff, uses it all the time. We made supernoodles with it a few years back and they turned red. Burned the mouth off me but I managed them, this curry is hotter. The chilli used is 400 times hotter than tabasco.

I can actually feel my stomach burning and I am known for my iron gut. This is a first for me so I'm wondering if the bog roll in the fridge really will be required.
