johnny g
Been there, done that. Hair raising fun - and Woodsport are THE people to do it. What Paul Woods doesn't know about MR2's isn't worth knowing. Been looking around for bits and bobs for the Mr2 and im starting to notice the mental engine swaps that can be carried out. The Raven
I trust it had a few back end issues? Did you have the normal v6 job? or the lexus lump? If you dont mind me asking what did you give the work to be carried out?
johnny g
My first V6 was the 3VZ-FE with a modified TRD Supercharger on custom exhaust manifolds. I loved it, but wanted more power. My second one was the 5VZ-FE, fully forged, with Woodsport build manifolds for a GT4094R turbo. It went like nothing I've ever been in before. It wasn't too tail happy, if you respected it. I had a lot of work with Paul, so it's hard to gather the price. If I was to do the V6 again, I'd be choosing the 2GR-FE, with Gouky manifolds and mounts and a Syvecs to top it off and ring out some more power. I'd estimate that'd be 340bhp and instant response. I'd also have it done in a Mk3 MR2, which weighs a ton I trust it had a few back end issues? Did you have the normal v6 job? or the lexus lump? The Raven
The base for the car is really cheap. 1k gets a niceish Mr2 these days. I will try and get a ride in one of the chaps cars
Westy
A lad I know has had his MR2 tubby dyno'd at 400bhp and it is stripped out to boot! It's scary quick!
TubbyTwo
Cracking cars MR2s drop a decent engine in there and you cant beats the screams per mile!
CJ
I have a UK NA model but have an accident damaged turbo car to use as a donor. With a couple of other mods I have acquired, this should be good for 280bhp - which in a little machine like the 2 should be "interesting"! However, my plans may now have changed and I am talking to another engine builder / tuner about a different route

fastcar
I have only one question and that is how the hell do you get a 3ltr engine into an MR2. The last engine bay I looked in had hardly any room with the standard lump in there

Nodalmighty
If you are interested, I have a full 1mz-fe 3.0 24v engine with all custom engine looms virtually plug and play complete with Link g3 ecu all mapped and launch controlled up going for £1500. You can have it with a oem 1mz engine loom and do your own ecu install and wiring integration (needs an igniter oem or 3 channel link or similar) for £1000. Lyndon.
