Scott
I was just browsing through the manual looking at the bits that I'm going to be doing next and noticed something a little off. In the manual it says to remove the 4 bolts and 2 nuts in order to remove the lower intake runners. I was almost positive that I removed 5 bolts and 2 nuts. I then had a look at the parts manual and it also says 4 bolts and 2 nuts, showing where they go in reference to the gaskets. The reason I find this strange is that the Jspecs don't have the EGR valve, and therefor don't have the 2 bolts holding in the lhs of the intake manifold. This leaves the last runner without any fixing on the right hand side. Has anyone else noticed this? Are there really only 2 nuts and 4 bolts holding it in? The best reference is to show what I mean is the parts manual... Personally I think I'll still be using that 5th bolt in the top EGR mount. If you read the manual, and look at the parts listing that I posted above, it says they don't exist.

Scott
Because the manual refers to a car with EGR. On J-spec theese bolts is OEM. Why would the parts reference be wrong then? The diagram you are looking at is for a 96+ pre-vvti RZ manual. Obviously I assumed the same, so that is why one lead me to the other.
