Classic 1971 Saab 99 4 door

Probably not the right sort of crowd for this but, Im offering up my 1971 Saab 99 for sale.

Getting rare now, 4 door, 4 speed manual with freewheel function. Powered buy a single carb, 1.7 litre Triumph engine, front wheel drive.

Free road tax (win!), this years insurance premium, 86 quid fully comp. Has MOT until August (I believe, to be confirmed). Not much history apart from the previous owner who spent nearly 2 grand on repairs and stuff.

General condition, very good for its age, few small patches of rust coming through, a small hole in the boot floor needs patching up. Sills, arches, doors, inner wings, floor, all solid.

Interior is again, generally very good apart from the top of the rear bench which has rotted due to UV damage.

Everything works, its got an excellent heater and is a hoot to drive.

Price - £950 ovno

If you want any more info please get in touch, any inspection and drive welcomed.

Nice car Craig - GLWS - you took the pics about 50ft from my gaff! If I'd known I'd have brought you out a cuppa!

Haha you've gone up in the world mate :D Cathedral quarter eh? There was only 1 location for the pics lol.

Cheers Si, it certainly turns heads, while taking the pics I had about 5 questions :) Kong, theres no uncool about it!

Thanks Col, I do love it but cant bring myself to press it into daily service. Steve, youre not the first person to suggest an engine swap. I thought about puting a later model 900 turbo engine in, but its a huge job.

The ad is on other forums so if you're interested, get in touch :) Drive away a retro bargain.

Depends what you're after mate, service items, same as a triumph TR7 shocks, eBay, there's lots of Saab specialists out there, I've got a new door lock coming as we speak. As with all old cars it's the trim parts you need to worry about. Luckily all the chrome is in great nick on this and the interior is totally complete.
