narbar
Hi, on my last Supra I uprated my Jspec brakes with a set of 3G brake disks and redstuff pads and was very impressed. Im just wondering if anyone knows if the supplier for the brake discs are still selling them as I was very impressed with them. Thanks for any help, Dean
Scott
I can't remember the seller I got mine from but they were the cheapest in the UK. I'll have a think about it and see if I can find out who it was.

Scott
http://www.ricerocketuk.co.uk/ This was the guy here, I know he doesn't list the Supra but I contacted him and he supplied me with a full set of UK RS-10s. Bare in mind this was a couple of years back now, having done a search on 3Gs they seem to have disappeared?

supra steveo
let me know the out come might want some new 3Gs soon , if these discs have actually disappeared what are people using as an upgrade to oem discs ?
tomgeer
They are in his shop on Scotts link, price rRanging from just over £200 to £224 depending on options, I would stick to OEM they are less than half the price.

Well spotted, I think I got them for £180 a pair as I just asked him for the best price he could do delivered in the UK if buying all 4. I don't know what I would get now to be honest. I like the idea of the grooves to help stop the pads from glazing.
SamuraiFlash
Are the 3G disks significantly better than the OEM disks?
Kirk
Are the 3G disks significantly better than the OEM disks? Quite the opposite actually .

Scott
Quite the opposite actually . Totally disagree with you there. I've always loved the 3Gs. I wouldn't think twice about getting stock, don't get me wrong, but I always like discs with the grooves in them (even though they wear pads quicker) to keep the heat down. I wouldnt say they are significantly better but I think the UK ones would handle better than standard UK spec ones.
Robzki
I favour the 3gs as well, I've had them on for a few years and haven't had any issues. I have however had 1 cracked and 2 warped oems. I know that the oems are usually bulletproof but I haven't had any luck with them. These failures have been due to sticking calipers which the 3gs have survived. Want proper slotted discs then get stoptech or brembo OEM replacements but then again thats just me

Robzki
Did I read somewhere that 3g use brembo blanks?
marc_p
Quite the opposite actually . Definetly not, the 3G's have been proven by numerous amounts of members to be a much needed upgrade over stock, I personally haven't heard anyone say that they thought stock disks performed better. A much needed upgrade you say? Id like to see where people have said 'I need 3G discs cause OEM aren't good enough' Most people warp stock disc's so easily cause they don't allow them to cool off properly after abuse. Kirk
I never once had an issue with my OEM discs with CW pads so clearly I'm missing something.

Supra N_A
Quite the opposite actually . have you ever used 3G discs???? ^^^^ Edited February 20, 2012 by Supra N_A (see edit history)
Kirk
No NA but what difference does that make exactly? If your running J spec brakes and punishing them hard then you should expect to overcome there limits. Id happily run OEM discs on a UK brake setup with decent pads but let me guess you know for a fact 3G's are still better
Kirk
question: have you ever used 3g discs??? . Briefly, felt no different to OEM even hard pushing. There just a cheap alternative to OEM not at all 'uprated'.
