Slicknick
If anyone can help it would be much appreciated, I am currently changing the rear discs and pads (UK Spec) on the car but i cannot remove the rear disc, it is free from the hub but feels like the handbrake mechanism is holding it on, the handbrake lever is down. Am i missing a trick for releasing the rear disc or is it a brute force job. Many thanks!!
Scott
There is a little hole on the face of the disc, if you rotate that to 6 o clock you will see a little cog. You need to rotate this (pushing towards the rear I think) in order to pull the shoes in past the lip in order to get the disc off. If the shoes tighten on the disc then you are rotating it the wrong way. Just use a plain screwdriver to turn it.

Scott
Scott you are a bloody star, thanks mate! No problem. Once you have put the discs back on use this to adjust your handbrake. Simply turn the star till it won't go any further then pull it back a few teeth. Do the same with the other side to make sure they are both even (ish, it's not an exact science). That will bring your handbrake down to a few clicks
