Depending what year your looking at- the later models are twin turbos- the only downside is the common shape but think the latest from march 10 onwards are good lookers with the right set of rims 19" are best.

Also BMW drivers love racing our Supra's - why do they bother.

Off topic how many of you had a great drive today - good sunshine turbo's spooling that punch from the second turbo thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

Cheers Harvard, but I'll be paying cash.

I would keep my cash safe, go and get a PCP, this way you get a guaranteed buy back value and your'e not financing the whole car! All of these cars depreciate faster than....erm... a very fast thing!!! Spend 50k in two years you get back 20k.... Thats a lot of motoring costs a year!!!

Get a decent finance package... It'll be soooo much cheaper in the long run!!!

That's actually a good point kong. I really need to look at the PCP option. I generally just pay cash for everything but depreciation may work in my favour on this...

50k to spend and you've got a non-turbo! Well thats the first decision made then, spend 40k on a new car and 10k on a proper Supra :D

I'm with Havard on looking for a pcp contract, its a no brainer, especially if you're considering an Audi. Puts your mind at rest and means you don't have to worry about the wildy fluctuating 2nd hand car prices.

For me, I wouldn't even have to think, it's very simple. Get your bum into a brand new alpine white BMW 535d, full msport and all the trimming's. They're a smashing car to drive and they far exceed everything you say you're looking for. Beautiful car to drive, and even without a remap, it's a seriously quick daily driver. The autobox is brilliant. It's lovely and smooth, with paddle shift on the steering wheel for the twisties. Its not quite a SMG setup but its a lovely compromise in my opinion, quick and smooth.

Lol... I chose an NA specifically :)

535d is on my list. Not sure I want a car that big though, which is why I was looking at a 335.

The power is not my main driver. I want to find a good balance between power, consumption, looks and comfort. It's very likely I'll add a Supra TT to my collection in a couple of years so I'm not fussed on the power of this car. I'd even consider an A6 or A4 2.0....

Ahh I thought the 240+bhp was a serious requirement. All i'll say is I went from an e46 m3, to a 5 series and apart from a few less looks, I don't think i'd go back. Its just a different class in terms of driving comfort. It doesnt feel like a big car if you get me, doesn't roll about etc and doesn't feel very big around town. Parking takes a bit of getting used to, but hey, thats what the all round parking sensors are for! :D

Just to add, despite appearences and rabbiting on non stop about BMW's, I don't work for them. However, if the day job doesn't work out for me, I think I could find quite the niche for myself in BMW pr :D

The 335i coupe M Sport would be my choice if you can afford to run it. Stunning car and that engine is absolutely outstanding. It's not as cheap as the diesels in terms of MPG, but did win engine of the year ;)

100% agree with that, my colleague has one... and if I wanted a modern day Supra replacement, this is what I'd go for :)

I drove his, and it is superb, the only thing which lets it down is the run flat tyres.

Oh and the optional extra's which cost almost £10k ;)

Think you have to even select steering wheel!

Right Neo.

I have been in the same situation for some time. Deciding between a 335i Coupe, a 335d Coupe or a 330d Coupe. It's one of these against a Single Supra.

My decision is do I go sensible but fun and get one of the BMW's or go mental with a Supra and opt for a basic Company Car.

I have done a hell of a lot of research and test drove both the 335d and 330d and BOTH are EPIC! Gallons of torque and sublime handling. If you can, go for the Sports Plus option that comes with SatNav/Bluetooth/Media package with option to further upgrade sound system amongst other options. I need to still test drive the 335i and will be doing this with a colleagues car week after next so will update then.

The new N55 Engine in 335i now uses a single turbo which is more efficient and has just as much of a strong powerband as the older N54 variant. Best of both worlds.
