Nic
Anyone used one of these remote exhaust valves? I've emailed the company to see if they are able to do a 2 bolt flange so it could be fitted on a Toyota between the mid pipe and back box. http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/QTEC/ http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/QTEC/images/CloseUp/1_base.jpghttp://www.quicktimeperformance.com/Wireless/400px_Wireless.jpg
tony tt
What if you forget to open it with the keyfob and give it wot? Or does it open with pressure and the button closes it only? It is a good idea

johnny g
I've been looking at the Sound Performance ones at length - wanting to get the 4" on mine - then reduce to my Tanabe afterwards.

Interesting theirs are boost activated http://www.spracingonline.com/store/SP_Exhaust_Cutout_3__34___Boost_Activated_/3673
Guigsy
interesting. id like something that opens on boost so i cant accidently leave it closed (because i will) iv also always wondered they look to cut off the exhaust totaly. curely that cant be good even for a short time? id at least want to drill a few 1cm holes in there
Nic
The QTP Electric Cutout and Sound Performance Boost Activated Cutout are designed as bypass valves and the flapper valves form a complete seal. 3rCT5FfwBl0 C556EHYUijA The Apexi Exhaust Control Valve is designed to fit in line to reduce the noise level of the exhaust, the flapper valve is smaller than the pipe diameter to allow the exhaust gasses to flow around it. The QTP and SP could be used inline the same as the Apeci ECV but would need the flapper valve reducing in diameter or stopping it from completely closing. dandan
The QTP Electric Cutout and Sound Performance Boost Activated Cutout are designed as bypass valves and the flapper valves form a complete seal. That's the way I did mine - total bypass option, and it works well - mine is a DMH valve though. I thought about boost activated but the downside is there's no chance of a loud rumble at idle as you can't open it on demand http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?194439-Dan-s-Supra-Project&p=2712590&viewfull=1#post2712590
