I just wanted to thank Adrian flux who are apparently "delighted" to being able to offer me their "highly competitive" car insurance quote for £6000 for my NA that I am already fully comp on for £900 which will be down to about £800 in September.

I would say what I think to that but as there is a no swearing policy I wont.

haha that brilliant! The cheek honestly.

When I had my renewal from them it was £2700 fully comp on an NA with limited mileage and a £1000 excess

Rang them back the next day said I would like to cancel as I can go to admiral for £900 with no limited mileage and a £1000 excess, They said hang on a min... Waited ten mins on hold and they offered me £900 and no excess and no limited miles.

Insurance companies are a joke!

I am tempted to email them back telling them to go do something to themselves. I would of preferred it if they just didn't bother replying.

I would email them and ask how they can come up with such a ridiculous figure and if they think you are some sort of mutant that would even consider paying 6k for insurance!

Wow...Adrian Flux quoted me £630 fully comp!?

Competition were winners with £408 FC!!!:)

The bad thing is that I have only had a full licence 1year and 1years ncb so I went with Aviva as they count from when you got your provisional as having a full licence which I have had since 2004 , That was the only way I could get a reasonable price for a NA which is amusing seeing as it is more to insure than a TT as obviously a 3ltr twin turbo is far less dangerous than a NA 1.5 tonne boat. The saddest thing of all is that if I wanted to have really cheap insurance I would of had to settle for a TT aerotop.... hard times.

I phoned them about 6 months or so back as I heard they can insure car chassis as I need my imported supra to be insured in order for me to get the registration documents. I told them the car won't be driven & parked off the road & under covers with no battery in place. Advise if the quote is good I'll stick with them & if it isn't then I'll take out the policy & cancel in 2 weeks. After loads of questions on where it will be parked, if you can see it over the hedges etc etc...

They quoted me £5,000 for standing cover (meaning I won't drive it).

I got him to repeat it several times, then asked him what he told of the quote. He was like it does seem a little high, my manager just told me we can knock £200 off. Seeing as I paid £700 for my TT on the road, I won't be paying £5k to insure a car to sit on my drive which doesn't even have a battery in it.

Plonkers.

I assume they were offering a car and insurance for that price? Oh and a years tax and petrol too?

It is just retarded to be blunt that they do that and like stated on here you say you are leaving and give them a quote reference and amazingly they can match it. Why not just use common sense that nobody in their right mind would pay double what the vehicle is worth in insurance.

They obviously have a policy of recruiting a certain type of driver. All insurance companies will have a target market, age, experience, profession etc. They were giving you a FO price..!!

Insurance companies takes the wizz, I was quoted £4200 for my na from admiral and they forgot to list the mods. I rang them back and they said they wouldn't cover it. Idiots. Adrian flux are ok if you poke them and give them a fake competitor quote to work towards.

I can see myself sticking with aviva as it works out that I have had a full licence for nearly 8years with there provisional policy method over phoning up a company and telling them I have only had a full licence for a year in March. Adding my old man as a named driver helps too as he is nearly 60 with no points ect although women the same age and clean licence get you an even cheaper price. I never get why more people don't put down other named drivers on their policies to bring their quotes down.

They were also delighted to quote me £617 for my Is200, when I rang them to ask why it was that they are wanting more this year for a group 13 Uk car than they did last year for a group 17 import Supra they said that there had been a 40 % price rise. Although I do miss my Supra I was looking forward to hassle free car insurance where I could get a cheap quote anywhere for my boring family saloon, seems thats not the case. Says it all here really
