Nic
Wanting to reduce the noise level of the MR2 so it'll pass track noise restrictions, considering replacing the resonator on the NUR R with an additional muffler but not sure which would be the better Borla or Magnaflow? Jamesy
Out of interest how loud is it Nic? You may already know but i have a Rev3 MR2 and i also have a love for anything stupidly loud.... would consider doing you a swap with my stainless steel exhaust, twin pipe if your interested? Its not overly loud, more "raspy".....but if yours is silly loud i'd def be interested
Nic
It is loud, not mine but this vid will give you an idea. What exhaust do you have fitted, do you think it would pass track noise levels? x7p66BtK3p4
Jamesy
I will have to double check the name of it mate, i remember it was atwin box stainless steel exhaust. Im pretty sure it would pass a noise restriction yes, even after i removed the cat and made it a bit louder its still not deafening like my Supra! but still have the cat if you needed to use it. Only thing i just thought of is mine is a GT Coupe non turbo and yours is a turbo - not sure if that makes any difference on the MR2's exhaust? dandan
I've got a 3" straight through Magnaflow for sale Nic. It has a centre entry one end and offset the other. I bought it to quieten my Nur Spec R down and the I went single and 4" exhaust anyway! Edit: Drop me a pm if you are interested....it's here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?249204-3-quot-Magnaflow-Stainless-Steel-Exhaust-Silencer (not sure if 3" is too big for you though)

Nic
Anyone have any experience of the Jetex silencers? They do shorter lengths which would mean I could leave the resonator in place and weld on the mid pipe instead.

captainchaos
have you tried these http://www.burnsstainless.com/, ran one of these a while back nicely made and serviceable
Nic
have you tried these http://www.burnsstainless.com/, ran one of these a while back nicely made and serviceable They look really well made, bit pricey though. Anyone used a Jetex silencer? This one would be an ideal size but not sure how much quieter it'll make the exhaust. https://www.jetex.co.uk/jetex/store/images/uploads/u457600rlarge.jpg

MattP
The turbo and N/A have different downpipe midpipe and backbox (standard that is) the standard turbo midpipe and backbox is not very restrictive at MR2 BPU levels if you can source one cheap.
