The Devil Inside

I don't do horror movies at all. I know they are meant to frighten you but in my case they not only frighten me then - they leave me frightened afterwards. Plus I really get no pleasure from them.

I absolutely love horror films. It's very rare that I find one that actually scares me, it's often actually the psychological ones that get to me rather than the jumpy ones. As an example the first time I watched Signs I was really uneasy once the film had finished, and that's probably one of the least "scary" horror type films there is. I think the scariest film I have seen has probably been The Descent. I really emmerse myself in these movies when I'm watching them so I could really imagine myself being in their position. We went to the cinema to see it, the Wife my friend and I, and when the lights came up I was excited about how much I enjoyed it. My friend on the other hand was chalk white as if he had seen a ghost, since then I've always considered it to be right up there.

This film looks like it will be just as psychological as it is jumpy, same as The Descent, so really looking forward to it :D

Oh, Insidious is up there too (even though it was a bit ruined by the end).

TBH, I should really have had another category. Then I would put you in the "attention seeker" one rather than post whore. :p

Hahahaha I prefer the term loser to be honest. I need to catch up on films again as I have not bothered going to the cinema for years and have just watched some now and then on some sites, tv dvd ect. There are probably loads of films I missed out on although horror films are not normally films I sit there and decide to watch or go and see. Any good suggestions for films would be good as it will get me off of here and keep me out of CJ's watchful eye.

I watched that and enjoyed it. I think it is the ghosty / paranormal type ones that really get to me. The exorcist frightened the life out of me for weeks afterwards. Hated every minute!

Google does not seam to agree with you Scott. I might just watch it anyway as I still have a lot of time to kill. Maybe if people give me a suggestion of the worst films ever I will watch them and report back with how suicidal I was feeling.

For anyone interested in Scotts choice

We're both 80s kids. Take yourself back to the age you would have been when HTD was out. Trust me, it's fantastic ;)

Other Gems....

Deadly Friend

The Monster Squad

The Lost Boys

License To Drive

Mystery Date

Ski School

That should keep you going for today :)

I think the Paranormal Activities are like Marmite, I haven't met anyone who said it was a bit scary, it was either full on cack your pants or not scary at all, I'm the latter and I think the majority of people are, but the minority who were scared by it were REALLY scared by it - maybe this will be similar.

Japanese Grudge and Dark Water are on my list as top scares, we watched Grudge round a friends house then had to drive home in the dark, did that thing where you check the back seat and lock the doors. :D

Both of them were pretty good, along with the original Ring. Not sure what got lost in translation with the US remake of the Grudge but it was nowhere near as good. I loved all the Japanese horror flicks out at a similar time, the time freeze effects they were using along with the SFX were absolutely fantastic (The Ring etc).
