If you can re- advertise and sell it to another member then I'm happy to post it on and take the £40 back that way as I appreciate that it wasn't entirely your fault. However, if you cannot find another buyer then I would like a full refund. I think under the circumstances that seems fair. Carl Since you acknowledge that it is not my fault, I think given the circumstances you should re-advertise the pump yourself. I didn't say the pump would fit your TT (I didn't know either way) - you made up your mind to purchase based on other members. Had you bought this from a motor factor it would be non returnable due to the part being supplied correctly. I sold the pump as an NA pump and you knew this at time of sale. Sorry but I don't see how I'm responsible? Ok, so you can see that I have been left with a pump that is no use to me. I feel "straight six" attitude is a little harsh given that I bought this in good faith to fit my TT. However, you live and you learn I guess. So I have a water pump with only 200 miles on it, so as new which only fits a N/A supra. If anyone is interested it will be sold for the price I paid which was £40. straightsix
My attitude is harsh? You say you bought it in good faith for your TT yet I advertised it in good faith for an NA. I've seen more dispute threads start by going along with what you suggested so see the simplest answer is for you to resell it If you've got a problem then open a dispute - don't try and make me out to be something I'm not. carlmhtt
I have posted both my comments and yours. People can make what they will of it. I bought it to fit to my TT. Clearly it does not fit despite what was said by other members. Any decent seller would have the courtesy to give a refund seeing as it is of no use to me. Am I annoyed at buying something that does not fit the car I made clear it was to be fitted to...Yes! I could raise a dispute but I doubt it would get me far judging by your attitude so far, hence why I have re-advertised.
Shane
I was one of those who said it would fit so feel a little bad about it. In my case, and I have no reason to think that my old NA was any different to any other, my local factor shop only had a TT pump listed, I bought this and it fitted my NA once I had split the failed pump from the housing at the rear. It fitted fine and the holes lined up. So, maybe the supplier in fact sent me a NA one, but I wouldnt have thought so. Not trying to insult you, but are you 100% sure it doesnt line up? I am sure CW or Dude or someone can confirm if the pumps themselves are different. EDIT: Well I have just seen your pics in the other thread and there is a clear difference in the pump housing and it would never fit. I can only assume that although I was told the pump I was sold was for a TT it was not and it was for a NA. Sorry about the bum advice, I feel bad...but not bad enough to buy a NA pump from you. Good luck with the sale, am sure it will sell pretty quick.
