Josh42
Thinking of NA-T Not going to be a fast build though, want to do it right, so will be at least a year. Going to buy another 2JZ-GE block, and build it before dropping it in. Below are a list of items I think I'll need, can anyone think of anything else? NA engine TT pistons TT head gasket TT Auto box TT injectors T4 turbo SSQV FMIC Mines ECU 3" Exhaust Double Decat TT inlet Manifold(?) Boost Controller FCD Walbro fuel pump Edited February 10, 2012 by Josh42 (see edit history)

Josh42
Would the Mines not do all that=)?
heckler
Would the Mines not do all that=)? depends what its off - NA - no, TT no... you will still need a piggyback ECU at least to control it all. If you ask me, a piggyback is just not worth the hasstle. Stock N/A ECU not designed to deal with Boost, TT ECU is designed to work with twin stock turbos.. Josh42
What would you reccommend? Syvecs?
Rob_Mitchell
Would the Mines not do all that=)? you want the best standalone ecu on the market, its the heart of the build and then get the best mad scientist to map it- points to Ryan G Syvecs!! heckler
What would you reccommend? Syvecs? Yup, or an AEM - but would also need a HKS DLI for an AEM

Josh42
Cheers=] All I'm thinking is that if I make it a long term project, for one I'll be older, for two it doesn't require a massive capital in one lump sum, and this way I can build it exactly how I want it. What do you guys think?

What do you guys think? Good idea, Try and buy the Very best bits for the build as you can and dont turn you nose up at second hand parts in the forsale section. I would go for the garage whifbits turbo kit if i went this route, such save the pennys

JamieP
Yup, or an AEM - but would also need a HKS DLI for an AEM Id steer clear of AEM standalone on a auto car, syvecs or motec imo. You only need a dli with the old series 1 AEM's, later ones dont need one.
Josh42
That's the other part of the plan with having a separate engine, so I can take my time and do it with top quality bits, not necessarily new, but without losing the car as its my daily driver=]
mellonman
i hear the stand alone is good but not had any dealing with it but i have had the fic and the afr and yes they work but not great fic , works but is just not great as it dont like magnetic cam and crank signals which cause miss fires afr, it can not simulate a narrow band signal that my supra likes it dont even out put a voltage when set to simulate p4 on dial after research on the aem forum i see 100s of people ripping the stuff out if i knew then what i knew now i would never touch aem. just my opinion as i have had bad experiances. i would check out the forum before buying anything though to see what problems they have, goes for every company
