Noz
Hi all. Want to check the jumper pin's are connected right on my Emanage. The ECU was used on a TT previously, and Brendan told me yesterday they have different jumper pin's. Also I noticed 2 cap's had been changed, and a small component. Part Number: 83603 Component description: MICROPOWER VOLTAGE SUPERVISOR RESET ACTIVE HIGH Input/Output Rail-to-Rail Low Power Operational Amplifier This seems to have been changed, not sure if it's a common thing, or even how it would affect it. Any advice on the pin orientation would be appreciated.
Tricky-Ricky
What your looking at has absolutely nothing to do with the jumpers, Check through this search, there should be something to help you. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/search.php?searchid=985675
Mr Ree
Im guessing your version of the Emanage is the first version? They had an issue with them as when you remove the circuit board from the case, that part you have circled can impact on the casing and cause a short circuit. Im guessing that has happened in the past to the unit you have, and it was repaired.
Tricky-Ricky
I did have a link to the database of boards that where effected, and the progression numbers, but cant find it right now, if i do find it i.ll post it up. The part in question is in the timing control circuit and the result of damage usually showed up as a misfire. Tip, use a piece of reinforced tape over the component, it avoids it shorting and being hit/damaged when inserted and removed. Noz
I'm still having a misfire Ricky, do you think this could be the reason? I know the component isn't to do with the jumpers I was asking two questions buddy. I just wanted to show the item as I knew it had been played around with. I always stay plugged in due to electro-static discharge as I didn't know the circuit I thought best to stay ESD safe Any tips on where to send the unit to have this component changed? Where I used to work have the equipment but I'd rather pay somewhere top notch for the swap out. I'm still experiencing the odd miss fire I think I'm going to owe you a bag of Hario Ricky if this sorts the problem!!!
Tricky-Ricky
Hope the definitive jumper settings where in that search somewhere, just couldn't be trawling through it last night, as for the misfire, it could be down to the component, however what have you got the ignition jumper 8 voltage set to? as on the TT this needs to be set to 12v or it can cause problems, but not sure on the N/A, as for the rest i think you can leave then as factory, unless they have been changed? i presume you have the install manual? Noz
I have the manual I'll have a read later. I'm struggling to find datasheet for the component. Any help on what the component is? Can't find anything for component listed as 83603 or 8360.
Tricky-Ricky
Sorry i haven't been able to find any info on the component, or the board database, there is not so much info on the EMU about these days.
