BABZ988
Hi; Does anyone add issues with fuel pump ECU??? Do the engine ECU need information from Fuel pump ECU to start the engine? Can we bypass it ? this: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?263145-Car-won-t-start is why i ask !! please anyone
Swampy442
You can force the pump to run at 12v high flow mode by bridging the terminals B+ and Fp in the diagnostic terminal. The only way to bypass the ECU completely is to rewire the fuel pump
BABZ988
yeah, that's the famous 12v mod. that for bypass the fuel pump feeding.
Chris Wilson
It's the other way round, the fuel pump ecu needs feedback FROM the engine ecu. In 99% of setups there's no reason to fiddle with this at all. It keeps the fuel cooler and wears the pump less if left to work as intended. Say I a walbro, say maybe even two of them, will the stock fuel pump ecu switching voltage still be ok or should it be whipped out?
Chris Wilson
A single pump is fine, but if the set up needs two pumps it's obviously quite radical and you should either bypass it, or find a controller that will handle more current. I'd try and avoid twin pumps unless there's no alternative, won't a Bosch 044 in the tank be enough?
BABZ988
the engine ECU send an electrical variation to the Fuel pump ECU depending on engine charge but the signal goes back to the ecu too; No? Can the fuel pump ecu unable the engine to start if it is faulty ? Even with the 12V mod?

I had thought putting the two in now would have been fine aslong as my return line could keep rail pressure down.
