Dim Sum
What exactly is brake boosting?
Tyson
What exactly is brake boosting? They use the brake to slow themselves down but counter this by using the accelerator to load up the engine creating more boost, when they are ready they release the brake and floor it. It is a great way to build up boost on a rolling start and also a great way to munch through brake pads / discs.

What this man said, seen some crazy vids where the discs are glowing and sparks are flying.

If they are doing it alot it would be well worth investing in some carbon ceramic discs.
Pig
I think brake boosting was what helped munch my gearbox. One to be careful of!
JamieP
I think brake boosting was what helped munch my gearbox. One to be careful of! Could be, its very hard on the car, Ive killed a lot of diffs left foot braking on rolling burnouts. Your box did come out of a drag car though. Pig
I had a small issue/grind when changing into 3rd at wot for a long time which was gradually getting worse. Got a lot worse after discovering boost braking, could just be a coincidence. Won't stop me doing it! The box had selection issues when I got it so often got 3rd instead of 5th. Another great way to kill a box.
