Benjy
I've had a business account with Barclays for the last 51 weeks, and a "Premier Life" account for the last 10 years. Firstly, they refused me an overdraft as a cash flow safety net as I hadn't been a business customer for a full year, yet I have a £1250 overdraft which never gets touched on my personal account. A week apparently makes all the difference. My account has been run perfectly according to the business manager, and she'd have more than happily given me said overdraft, but "Computer says "no"!!!!!!" So tonight, I need to set up a standing order to my website designer for the hosting and maintenance of the site. It's £18 a month and he'll do all the changes and monthly special offers etc etc. Premier telephone banking say "oh, we can't set up a business standing order, I'll pass you to 'kin INDIA to the business team." So, she passes me to Imran at the business team, who says "I cannot complete your request Mr Gerrald (my name's FITZ-GERALD), you do not have telephone banking capability on your business account." So I air my frustation and annoyance politely, and ask if he can make a one time payment today from my business account to my website guy's account, and apparently not. I can transfer money from my business account which isn't supported to my current account, but not to someone elses account as I haven't paid for that priviledge. WTF!? I could quite happily murder someone, starting with Imran for getting my name wrong, then going through anybody that's annoyed me. Ever. Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent bank who actually want to keep their customers and not p!ss me off at every single opportunity? Rant over. Benjy
i've got a mate that works at Lloyds, and have just arranged a meeting at 10am tomorrow to open a business account, and Barclays can stick it up their gary glitters! Know I know where the cockney rhyming slang "barclays banker" comes from!
ellis
My business account is with Barclays but I've opened a new one up with Nat West as I hate Barclays with a passion - they are beyond useless. They'll be losing my business in the next month.
Abz
We used Barclays bank when Dad has his Resturant, they were terrible, awful in everyway. I had a business account with Natwest whilst I was contracting, they robbed me of £500. Been banking with Lloylds for 15 years & they been spot on. Havard
I love closing bank accounts and waiting for the "can we ask why you are closing this account?" question. I then tend to light the blue touch paper and go off on one..!! I hate banks. H.

Benjy
Oooooh believe me I intend to go off on one at Barclays. I'm gonna bring up the fact that every single time they put me through to India they get my name wrong. Every time I talk to India, they're rude, pushy and very annoying. Every time I ring up to transfer money, they try and sell me home insurance. I've been lied to a couple of times but people on the phone getting their facts wrong, and on one occasion, even one guy behind the counter. I don't need an overdraft on the business account, but it would have made my life a lot easier paying my £1000 motor trade insurance so that cash flow wasn't an issue paying my other £2000 outgoings for february. Instead I had to take a little bit out of my savings, a little bit out of my current account, and now I have to explain to my accountant where that money's come from and where the money to pay it back's going. I can never get hold of my business manager, yet when she wants her car fixed she wants it done there and then. Then I'm gonna chin someone if I still feel this livid!
