carlmhtt
Was this an oe water pump from Toyota? I ask because you can buy them cheaper new than your second hand one on eBay, but f course they might be inferior quality.
straightsix
You won't have the back part of the housing with that though. It is OE spec and the manufacturer supply to Toyota although it does not have Toyota stamped on it. It did cost more than the ones on eBay - I did buy one of those originally but sent it back as the casting was...er.....'pants' and the general quality was dubious. I then bought this one. welshbuddy
you can get them for like 65quid. if there any cheaper than that, personally i would not trust them .
straightsix
I guess it's about how much you value your motor. The one I originally got from ebay promised the 'actual product pictured' guarantee - what actually arrived was a rough cast thing that had sharp edges in the wrong places!. If you want it though I'll do it at £40 delivered and I'll leave the back of the housing and bypass pipe on

I'll take this of you at £40 if you email me your PayPal or bank details which ever you prefer. Carl

Iky
It's a good price, my local motorfactor who is usually quite good with prices, quoted £80 for one of these of the same brand.

Shane
The pump itself is the same between the tt and na, (well, it fits and works ok although Mr T has a different number for both) but the rear housing you speak of is not the same, thats for sure. You can just unbolt the pump itself from the NA housing and use it on the TT. I did it the other way around when I had problems with my old NA, I bought one for a TT and bolted it to the housing on the NA.

carlmhtt
As a matter of interest, can you fit the water pump without removing the cam belt?
straightsix
I've never done it with cambelt in situ but I'm pretty sure I contemplated it but didn't look into it as I decided to do the cambelt at the same time. It's not a massive job really (once the crank pulley bolt is out!) and if you're going to drop coolant to do the water pump, it may be just as well to remove the rad for access and do the cambelt too. I've got a practically brand new cambelt idler in one of my other for sale threads if you decide to do it

I've got a practically brand new cambelt idler in one of my other for sale threads if you decide to do it I have just fitted my cambelt (new) and bolted the crank pulley back on, albeit not fully tightened yet. I was hoping not to have to remove the belt again unless it was absolutely needed.
straightsix
I think it's the lower cambelt cover that gets in the way.
Shane
I think it's the lower cambelt cover that gets in the way. Yes I think thats correct. You cant get the pump off with the lower cover on and you cant get the lower cover off with the pulley on if I remember correctly. But as you say, once the famous bolt is out then its no drama anyhow.
