David Reid
I have now sourced a nice replacement engine for my supra but will be giving it a refresh before fitting it. I will be changing the bottom end bearing and fitting ARP, Main, Big end and head studs together with a new oil pump. I am currently considering if I just refit a standard Toyota head Gasket or I go for a good aftermarket one. Note I dont want to fit a cheap metal cometic ect as I have seen many problems with them not sealing properly on other engines. I would either use a HKS or cosworth, but I am not sure if even need an uprated one as I was suprised to see the standard gasket is a steel multilayor type. I will hopefully be running just over 600 bhp when it is all back together. So the choice, replacement Toyota gasket, or good aftermarket gasket? Let me know your thoughts?
