Scott
Job finished Hopefully Dandan won't mind me using the picture he linked me to a while back showing the difference... The most obvious thing of note is that the pre-facelifts have what looks like a big washer end on the rear side of the rear bush. The facelifts don't have this, instead the inner bush itself protrudes a little bit more. All the lower arms I have are the same as the "Facelift" ones in Dandans picture. He bought them new from Toyota to replace his old facelift arms. If you have a look at the picture Brendan posted in this thread earlier it shows his pre-facelift arm with the same features as described above. Chris Wilson
As far as I know the car had never had any suspension replaced before, I wonder if Toyota just pulled wishbones out of stock and at some point some later cars got the earlier "bushed" wishbones? I'll get it collected sometime next week and refund you. I don't think I have any others that could possibly be late ones. Sorry abou that, but I know which car that came from as I kept all the bits in a separate building from my main stache of stuff, as they were only changed quite recently. Those washers on the earlier bones would actually STOP a lot of castor change under braking, but they may have added some NVH. If you get someone to drive a MKIV at a fast walking pace and jump on the footbrake whilst you watch the front wheel in the wheelarch, you'll see just how much the lower wishbone bushes allow the wheel to move back, (castor change). Especially on ones with tired wishbone bushes. Looks quite alarming, and is poor for geometry control and tyre wear, but good for NVH.

No worries Is it a problem that it's now been rubbed down and sprayed black? It was during the painting that I actually noticed lol.
Chris Wilson
Yes, you've ruined it, I can only offer a partial refund No, of course not, it's hardly detracted from it's value ;)If you are OK about the time spent, I am fine about it's oddness compared to its brother.
