Despite not using it for motorsports just yet. I have both. The new Hero 2 is definitely worth the extra lay out over Hero. Picture quality is far better, much more natural looking colours and slightly more defined too. Also in darker environments it shows up much more clearly in the Hero 2. Noz Posted February 6, 2012 Share Posted February 6, 2012 I have one and think it's really good for mounted video's and also still shot. I often use the camera at car shows, gets some awesome fisheye lesh shots. I'm not overly impressed with the sound quality though, you have a difference cover if its used in water condition or on a dry day (open back) but still wasn't overly impressed. Video quality is pretty good. I don't regret buying it, even though I want a Canon 550D for video's, this is an awesome camera to do mounted filming. Beats alot of bullet cam's on the market.
