Guest Josh122593
My car had a vibrating problem and turns out I threw the pp off balance in my spec stage 3.I bought a brand new XTD stage 2 pp from my friend and he gave me one of his old used stage 4 spec discs.I got it together got some miles on the pressure plate and the clutch slips if you boost over 8psi.I didnt bleed the clutch or adjust it but I dont think that would cause this.I think im gonna put my spec stage 3 disc back in and try it cause I know it was good and held the power before I broke my other pressure plate. Also the disc I have installed is unsprung and its suppose to engage hard but it doesnt,it feels kinda stock and it feels like my stage 3 disc engaged harder.I have a W58 tranny.Would the PP or Disc cause the soft engagement and slipping? Also I barley have to push the pedal to change gears. It releases very high. Lee P
Needs adjusting, you need to have play in the top of the pedal. You can adjust the biting point down by the rod on the back of the pedal. This will stop it slipping. You need to loosen the retaining nut then turn the rod anticlockwise. Keep checking it as your winding it, you will feel there is less tension at the top of the pedal. Once you have done that give it a try, you want the biting point in the middle some where if possible. Keep adjusting till its right, if you go to far the bite point will be too low and you won't be able to get it into gear. Once you have finished tighten the retaining but back up, job done. Guest Josh122593
There is about an inch and half of play.I only have to push the pedal halfway for the clutch to release.Ill try adjusting it.
