why does removing my rear teins ready to refurb turn into removing rear subframe aswell?

and its -8 heresubframe 311.jpgsubframe 309.jpgsubframe 313.jpg

will have my underside all cleaned prepped and sealed, then stoneguard the rear arches, bit of waxoyle in cavities and newly refurbed (by myself) teins and rear subframe/ everything else bolted back on in a week

then itll be the front end next lol

doesnt my wife look cold and happy to be helping me lol

Nice work...you would be aswell to have that subframe powder coated whilst it's off the car!;)

i will probably shot blast, etch prime and then polyurethane paint spray the subframe, im refurbing my teins at the same time, i think i may be a little ocd on my car

Was it difficult to remove the sub frames? im guessing you needed something to stop the suspension from firing out and skewering someone? i want to take mine off while its off the road.

was really easy, remove your coilovers (might need a spring compressor), undu the handbrake cable attatchment to body, undue and hang up the rear calipers out the way, remove diff (id already done as im servicing mine) undue rear antiroll bar, support hubs and undue the bolts securing the frame up to the body, making sure the weight of the subframe is suppored, then i just slid it out by raising the car on the jacks

took me an hour in the bloody freezing cold, wife then helped me heave it into my little yaris to take to work on monday along with all my other bits im stripping
